i could go for a clone…

Often times I really wish there were two of me so I could get more done. I would ask for more time in the day but I guess I would just use those extra hours to just sleep instead of getting anything else done.

So, yeah, I’ve been kind of busy. A lot of time has been devoted to trying to deal with more dental issues. My gums are currently out shopping for a can of mace and a shotgun in time for tomorrow’s trip to the dentist. I had some complications this week that almost sent me into a total meltdown but after I realized that it’s more like a minor setback instead of the end of the world, I’ve calmed down considerably. And the good news is…I can still eat!

I started a new painting on Sunday that is begging me to finish it. I come home from work, longing to get to it but there’s always a ton of other things to do in the few hours I have left before I go to bed. I’m also trying to enter into some more competitions and figure out where else I can publicly display my art.

And then there’s another biggie…I’m considering  going back to school next year (hopefully Fall 2008) to study graphic design. I plan on taking a course next month (another thing I’m researching) to get a feel for it and am reading up on it. I swore after I got the law degree that I would never go back to school; three years of reading mind-numbing texts and sweating through nightmarish final exams is enough to turn anybody off the academia feed but this time I think I will actually like what I’m studying. The more I’m at my current job, the more I realize how short life is and I need to make things come into fruition. I was kind of nervous about going back to school but the idea is simmering nicely with me.

So that’s up with me. Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up if my blogging seems few and far between these days.

  1. You deserve a cupcake, chocolate, with buttercrack icing. I’ll take one too…

The school idea is wonderful and I believe will give you the control over your destiny rather than feeling stuck in a field you have come to loathe. You need to get paid for all your creative talents!!

This dental stuff WILL come to an end. really. it will.

  2. Dang good luck at the dentist tomorrow! I think going back for graphic design is a GREAT idea! You’re too talented to not pursue your artistic side.

Good luck and keep us posted!

  3. Dentist! ACK! Hope it’s going ok (it’s tomorrow already!).
Graphic Design, a HUGE field, and one that is wide open … great choice!

  4. Graphic Design is a great idea. Yeah it makes a difference going back and studying a field you like!
Boogie is right, the dental stuff will come to an end. Hope we don’t read about your gums in the paper!

  5. Ohh Man… if you find a way to clone yourself, Puh-leeeze let me know!!

Good for you for thinking about school again. It’s never a bad idea to broaden your horizons!

I’ve been going to school for what seems like my entire life, and I think even though Spring will be my first semester “off” in years, I’ll be researching graduate programs. Who needs to work when you can live in acedemia your whole entire life?? LOL That’s what I’m going for!
