test 1 of the experiment

So it looks like I have my first date via Match tomorrow. Drummer Boy (hereafter known as DB) IM’ed me last night and asked me out. I hadn’t heard from him in a few days which was cool. We had talked to each other three days in a row and I was hoping he wasn’t one of those dudes that was going to be all up in my face all the time. He seems to have a productive existence. Now it’s a just a matter of finding out if we vibe in each other person or if I will want to end up hitting him with a waffle iron at the end of the night.

Though he seems the type to play it cool, I think DB was a little nervous about asking me out because the invitation was preceded by a lot of jokes and a little sarcasm. He finally got it together and so we agreed on tomorrow night. Where and what, we don’t really know but he left it up to me to text him suggestions as to what I want to do and he will come up with something. Some pluses that work in his favor is that he likes jazz music (even though he likes to play drums for a rock band) and is into intelligent conversation. He is also, as my friend would say, “hot.”

So I’m now I’m trying to figure out what I want to do. One of my friends, who I think suspects that internet dating is really some Satan-Hell-Spawn creation, suggested that we meet at Chipotle in Times Square. I was looking at her a little crazy after that suggestion because (1) I abhor Times Square because it has to be as touristy as Disneyworld sans the psychotic people in mouse costumes and (2) going to Chipotle’s on a first date is roughly the equivalent of going to a glorified Taco Bell restaurant with irritating tourists. So…scratch that suggestion. I get the whole being in a public setting for safety’s sake but lord.

I’m leaning towards going to a spot to listen to some live music that’s not too crazy so that we can actually have conversation or try and catch Iron Man (if we can get tickets). We’ll see. Whatever the case, I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated.
